The Hendins personal experiences in providing home health care for elderly relatives were often frustrating and emotionally draining, even with their extensive health care experience. Determined to turn their home health care dilemmas into a positive resource for other families, they established Heart of America Home Health Care to fill a much-needed service niche in their community.

Meet Our Team


Janelle Hendin, Owner and President of Heart of America Home Health Care, brings extensive management experience in customer care, client relations, insurance, sales, and business development to the company. This comprehensive background has served her well in this community-oriented, health care targeted entrepreneurial endeavor. Continually striving to expand her knowledge so as to better serve her clients and business, Janelle returned to school to complete her Bachelor of Science in– Management/Health Care through Park University in 2011.

LINDA HENDIN – RN, MSN – Nursing Director

is the Nursing Director at Heart of America Home Health Care, with over 20 years of nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.  In 2010, Linda returned to school and completed her Masters in Nursing through University of Mary.

LAUREN BOND, RN – Home Health Nurse

Lauren has been a nurse since 2006, earning her degree from Duke University.  She started with our agency in 2022 and works with many seniors and veterans on disease and medication management. Lauren specialized in cardiac patient care and medical/surgical patient care in hospitals and home settings. For several years, she worked as the Director of Client Services in a small business providing care management to older adults. She is passionate about advocating for patients and clients in our complex and often confusing health care system.

STACEY BROTHERS – Manager of Payroll and HR

Stacey Brothers is the Manager of Payroll and HR.  She has been with our agency since its inception and has worked in every area of the agency .  Stacey has a Master’s Degree in Psychology and Business that she received in 2011. She has over 15 years experience in finance, human resources and business which has served her well in her roles at Heart of America Home Health Care.

BRENNA VANVOORHIS – Office Coordinator

Brenna Vanvoorhis the Office Coordinator.   She has 15 years of customer service experience and working with the people is her calling. She went to Central Piedmont Community College and has an Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts and Communications.
